turning manure into fertilizer
If you purchase raw manure, it is easy to compost it yourself. See below for “How To.” |
1. Start with a mix
Mix Manure with Hay. You may also use leaves, sawdust, pine flakes etc. etc.
2. Add air and h20
A compost pile has moisture to keep microbes alive and allows air to penetrate the pile. Make sure you are actively turning the pile.
3. Time
This can takes 6-9 months to fully compost and will not happen over night.
